Chicken Katsu with Katsu Sauce (L&L Hawaiian Barbecue Copycat Recipe)

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 c cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 c water
  • 15-20 chicken thighs boneless, skinless; about 4 lbs
  • 1 lb panko bread crumbs
Katsu Sauce
  • 1/2 c worcestershire sauce
  • 1 c ketchup
  • 1 c sugar
  • 2-1/2 c water
  • 1/3 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp chicken bouillon
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 2-3 dashes tabasco sauce

Method
 

Sauce
  1. Combine all ingredients except for water and cornstarch. Bring to a boil. Add cornstarch/water mixture to thicken.
Chicken
  1. Trim excess fat from chicken and flatten.
