I’ve been thinking about starting a blog since I bought my first domain name in 2008 and even started working on several. They were never perfect, so I never launched one beyond posting some recipes and a few household tips. Now it’s time to jump in and see how it goes.
What You Can Expect to See
I’m going to be writing from my perspective as a busy dad trying to have fun and stay healthy.
- I’ll be starting with three posts a week
- Primary Post (Every Monday): This will be the primary content and include a range of topics from meal prep/planning ideas, recipes, information about Hawaiʻi, possibly some projects we do around the house, fitness information, and productivity tips. This will start out as a post every Monday but I may expand it to a couple of posts in the future, or as the week dictates.
- Aloha Friday (Every Friday): I’ll share a Hawaiian word, it’s English translation, and an example of its usage.
- Weekly Review (Every Sunday): This will be constantly evolving. The weekly review will include highlights from the week, workouts I’ve done, how many miles I ran, any good recipes we tried, or what else we’ve been working on.
Work in Progress
The Aloha Dad is going to be an ongoing work in progress. It’s time to get started and work out all the details later. I’ve moved my recipes and some other posts over from a couple of old sites I had. There is still a lot of Hawaiʻi-related information from a site I ran in college that I will work on getting posted too.
Officially Launching June 11, 2019
The Aloha Dad will officially launch on King Kamehameha I Day, June 11, 2019.
Please let me know if you see anything not working, if there is anything you would like to see, or if you have any questions about me or the site. It’s been a long time coming and I’m stoked to start something new. Welcome to The Aloha Dad.
