This post actually began with me working on a checklist for having a picnic. We like to have baby wipes to clean up while camping, picnics, and in the car, but we ran out. I was curious about what would be involved with making our own. I wanted something simple and cheap.
A lot of the recipes I was looking at called for a number of extra essential oils and things that we don’t need. Then I found Favorite Family Recipes’ Homemade Baby Wipes Recipe.
Homemade Baby Wipes Recipe
Save money and make your own wet wipes/baby wipes.
Ingredients
- 1 roll paper towels
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp liquid baby bath soap
- 1 tbsp baby oil
- 1 airtight container
Instructions
Cut paper towel roll in half with a serrated knife. I use X but a bread knife could work.
Place one half of the roll in your container.
Boil water for 2 minutes.
Add liquid baby bath soap and baby oil.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Pour mixture over the paper towel roll.
Remove the cardboard tube from the roll. You should be able to easily remove it once it's wet.
Place lid on the container.
Recipe Notes
- When you begin using the wipes, start by pulling the wipes from the center of the roll first.
- You can also put these in a large plastic bag instead of the container if you want to reduce the weight/bulk.
